Cooking recipes have become a much wanted pipeline for making a lot of gold fast in World of Warcraft, since the release of the Wrath Of The Lich King (WotLK) expansion.

Because of cross-faction trading, cooking recipes have always been a good source of gold on WoW. But ever since achievements came out, a lot of players have been wanting to buy the cooking recipes, and because some of these recipes are hard to find, they tend to go to the auction house to buy it.

The most efficient way to profit from cooking recipes is to set up what Jonathan Kenins calls a gold-making “pipeline” in his top-rated video gold guide for WoW - the Massive Gold Blueprint.

Setting up a profitable pipeline is quite easy. The best way to go about it, is to buy the recipes you want from the NPCs. If you’re playing on the alliance side, buy your recipes from there, and turn right around and sell it in the horde auction house to make a huge amount of gold profit. Vice versa if you’re playing on the horde side.

Start with alliance only or horde only recipes for the most profit.

A couple of good cooking recipes to start with are Westfall Stew, Murloc Fin Soup, Redridge Goulash, Blood Sausage, Beer Basted Boar Ribs, Seasoned Wolf Kabob, Crocolisk Gumbo, Gooey Spider Cake, and Goretusk Liver Pie. These are all alliance exclusive cooking recipes.

If you’re playing the horde side, look for horde only cooking recipes like Lynx Steak, Crispy Bat Wing, Scorpid Surprise, Strider Stew, Roasted Kodo Meat, Heavy Crocolisk Stew, Crispy Lizard Tail, Hot Lion Chops, and Bat Bites.

These recipes can be bought from the vendor at a really cheap price. The Crispy Bat Wing recipe for example can be bought at 25c and you can then trade it cross-faction and sell it on the alliance side for up to 50g each.

Just a couple more examples are Blood Sausage, Heavy Crocolisk Steak and Succulent Pork Ribs which you can buy from vendors at a couple of silvers each, and then turn right around and sell them for 20g or more.

You will earn a lot of gold by doing cross-faction trading with these cooking recipes.

Cross-faction trading is a method regularly used in the Massive Gold Blueprint system. What you do basically is buy from one side, the Alliance for example, and then trade it to the Horde side. To do this, you need a trading partner, or else two accounts of your own, since the auction house won’t let you trade between characters on the same account.

The first thing you must do is check for the items on both Alliance and Horde sides. See if they’re up for sale in the auction house. If they aren’t listed in AH, then there’s a good chance for you to set up your own pipeline, as you will have no competition.

However, if you see the recipes that you have your eye on, up for sale in the auction house, check the prices and decide if it will be worth the time and effort to buy and sell this particular item. If a large profit is possible (20 gold or more) then go shopping with a bunch of empty bags and buy as much of each recipe as you can carry.

Create your auctions, and you’re set! You’re on your way to make huge amounts of gold!
